![]() You need to set up Fast User switching in the menu bar on both accounts. Switching users is a temporary solution. It is clearly some other process at fault. Force-quitting “Wacom IO Manager” in your activity monitor does not help, this does nothing. From this thread it seems to be affecting people on different OS and different drivers. So curiously, and worryingly, something is automatically finding its way into the Wacom running process which is independent of any update. And exactly the same problem with the same symptoms is still there. Im now on the most recent driver, and tried a few older drivers by uninstalling. Saying again, this happened on an older driver. I hadn't upgraded the driver for a year or so, preferring "if it aint broke dont fix it" approach.- but despite this, on Sunday 16th July the problem kicked off, been dealing with it since. ![]() ![]() It seems to be happening independent of which driver you have installed. Here's some things I discovered … which may help users and Wacom itself - I will update if this if the evidence changes -ġ. Its obviously a very serious issue which affects everyones work massively. For example the Intuos 5 (released in 2012) was supported with driver updates until last year. Regarding our products longevity, we typically support them for quite longer that the industry standard (6 years). New Mac OS released usually have quite a few bugs on release that get fixed with following updates, but is always a bit chaotic. When Sonoma is out though, I do recommend waiting for us to post an officially compatible driver though or ask us if you are not sure. Please have faith and a fix will be out as soon as the team is able to resolve this.Īs for Sonoma, it's still very far off so for now we need to focus on what customers are actually using. We have no interest in keeping this bug alive. The team is doing what they can to squash this one. Unfortunately this particular issue is not as easy to fix as we would like. Thank you for your time and have a nice day. Your tablets used to be made to last through many updates, I used my last one for practically 8+ years, but I think that will no longer be the case for future models, will it? They will be 'un-upgradeable' after what, 5 years or less? And, I would imagine that they will also be more expensive, as well. I expect better from a company as established and experienced as Wacom. It is utterly irresponsible for you to release a product without proper software compatibility both current and retro. Which leads me to ask if you will be ready for the new OS, Sonoma, coming out this fall? You haven't even been able to make it work smoothly with Monterey nor Ventura, so I am in serious doubt that the tablet will even boot on Sonoma at all! I think your development team needs some support, ASAP. I will use the tricks mentioned for logging out and the activity monitor, but this is ridiculous. It just loses connection in the middle of working with it, and, like the original poster said, requires a restart to get it back. I am tempted to simply return it and stop wasting my time and being so frustrated. Never have I ever had such issues as I have with the new one, and the most expensive one. I have been using Wacom pen tablets since the early 2000s. And, as a result, I feel I have to make the following complaint. I am having the same problems on the PTH-660 with VENTURA 13.4.1 and on the most current driver. It's really annoying because the only way for it to work again is to restart my computer." The touch also turns on and off and sometimes stops working as well. It doesn't re-connect until I restart my computer. ![]() Original post by Jocelyn Mo: "My wacom driver keeps disconnecting and I have to restart my computer 4-5x a day while I'm working. I am copying the title of the other post, because I wanted to push this issue back to the top. Sorry, we don't need 2 threads for the same subject so I pasted your message here:
